
They felt as if caught in a labyrinth. Though every path was different they seemed identical. Long winding corridors left them second guessing at every turn whether this place had an end, let alone an exit. The mocking arrows on the ground, a promise of guidance, became more taunting with every new hall that they were led to.
All the strategic approaches, the worked-out plans, and the commitments to the cause; had vanished upon entering. Slowly becoming one with the experience and gazing at the colourful flowers, wondering whether they were real or not, the willpower to ignore all distractions faded by the second. How did other people get out of these kinds of places without taking damage? You could argue that luck would be involved, but even luck had to run out long before this maze would end. It was impossible to resist the temptations and allures of all offers.
Then finally, after their last turn, the relieving sight of the cash registers appeared, and once again those Swedish furniture geniuses won their credit card swipe.
