Once upon a time… today, we all need to realise that at the end of the day the only finger we should point is at ourselves. Luck has it, our joints bent perfectly to facilitate that movement. What an outrageous design flaw!
You are the catalyst in your micro-environment. Don’t accuse, rather find solutions that bring improvements. Humans are fortunate beings, having the ability to think independently, empathise, and anticipate future outcomes. A fraction of the available arsenal of weaponry we have at our disposal to make this planet thrive.
“The other day I shared my desperation about the littered oceans and how helpless we seem against it. Later, on that same day, I threw a plastic wrapper on the street. Hey, I pay my taxes that pay cleaners to clear up the roads. It can hardly be my fault that a gust of wind propelled the wrapper in the air and carried it to a forest outside the city. How could I know that a rabbit would sniff ferociously on the plastic inhaling it and choke to death. Those damn cleaners should do a better job.“
Don’t expect others to change the world for you. Rather inspire others to change the world with you. It’s not good enough to point at an issue and sit at home declaring thumb-wars on your significant other. We all bear the duty of responsibility to our planet.
…and if all the problems have been solved, we will have lived happily ever after.
