Cold Ain’t For Me

Winter has its charms, no doubt, if only it wasn’t so bloody cold half the time. However, she couldn’t see the charm at all. She was freezing and wasn’t even outside. Coat or no coat? The everlasting conundrum for her, during this season.

She knew putting on the coat was the smart thing to do, but on the other hand she’d look silly, like a bloated Oompa Loompa. No coat it was. After all, she would rather save her energy and use it for warmth, rather than coming up with witty comebacks to smart-mouth comments from overly comfortable customers.

Though, at this point she hardly had any. A couple walked in earlier, but they didn’t pay her much attention. She didn’t mind it, although a little company wouldn’t be the worst.

It was still early though. People would turn up eventually.

Then, to her joy, which she usually displayed with a radiant smile, a known face finally appeared.

“Hi!” she exclaimed, moving in for a warm hug.

“Still cold, huh?” he said, squeezing her just slightly tighter.

“Yes,” she frowned.
