Enchanting Cascade

Down the river, near the great cascades, an unusual sound erupted in between the swooshing water. A sound, installing fear in those that could hear it. But not long after that, a handful farmers, with knees shaking, set out to inspect the sudden disturbance in their environment.

As they walked, or rather tumbled, through the thick jungle between their homes and the river, they could hear the sounds again. The noise grew clearer with every step they took forward, and whatever it was, it didn’t frighten them anymore, but rather enchanted them. A melody that reminded of mythical tails about creatures that were about to trap their helpless pray. Despite the condemning prospects, the farmers had long forgotten caution and rushed unstoppable through the high weeds that grew at the base of the countless tree trunks.

Finally, they reached the river bank where they abruptly stopped in their tracks, gawking into the distance of the turbulent current. There, on the opposite edge of the river, stood a girl with open arms and a heaving chest, practicing her lyrical melodies that she would perform during the King’s banquet.
